if it is right under her chin kind of feels watery?? this could be bottle jaw...check her inner lower eye lids...are they are pale or white..

Barpole and Liver fluke worms can cause bottle jaw...best wormer for this is Ivomac plus for goats 6 months or older or valabazen for any goat and younger than 6 months..

if you find her eyes pale or white start her on red Cell 6 cc per 100# and
Vit B 12 4 cc per 100#
high protien feed, alfalfa and green leaves will help her as well

if you have a stall or small pen to herd her into ..it would help. With Bottle jaw you dont want to stress her much..maybe lier her in with feed ?? She will need either Valbazen (1 cc per 10# orally) wormer or if she is Pregnant or over 6 months old you can use Ivomec plus (1 cc per 40# sub Q)

I choose these wormers because they both take care of Liver Fluke which canalso cause bottle jaw

treating anemia is just as important as treating the worms. Red cell, Vit B 12 are both used to help her rebuild her red blood cells and provide her with the iron she has lost. High protein feed, alfalfa and green leaves will also help. Might want to keep her penned so treatment is easier for you to do..
Red Cell is daily for a week then once a week until color in eyes return
Vit B 12 is daily..if you can get B 12 which is RX B complex PLUS has enough B 12 in it to do the trick...

The edema (bottle jaw) can take days or even weeks to see gone depending on how bad it is..some disappear the next day..continue treatment regardless until inner lower eye lids have decent color
wormer should be done 3 x 10 days apart then once more in 30 days...

Awe..well if they are weened...Tenneseemeatgoats suggest a few ideas

First be sure there are no plants they are eating that prevent Iodine absorption..
This includes plants in the mustard family such as cabbage, broccoli, and turnips. Supplemental iodine will not help correct iodine deficiency in goats eating these plants. The producer must eliminate them from the goat's' diet.
her treatment plan is as follows
Treatment for iodine deficiency that isn't caused by plants that prevent iodine uptake is to add iodized salt to the goat's diet. Many prepared goat feeds use non-iodized mixing salt because the particles are small and have better mixing qualities. The amount of organic iodine (EDDI) put into prepared feeds is controlled by the U. S. Food & Drug Administration. Severe iodine deficiency can be treated more quickly by painting 7% iodine on a hairless part of the goat's body such as the tailweb. Free-choice feeding of kelp -- dried seaweed -- is probably the best method available. Kelp isn't always easy to find and is expensive but consumption per goat is small so overall cost should not be a major concern. A 50-pound bag of kelp lasts a long time and can be mixed with loose goat minerals to encourage consumption. Feed stores can special order kelp.

Cl is Caseous Lymphadenitis, a bacterial infection that is caused by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and ends in a cyst...the cyst is full of cottage cheese like puss that once burst spreads the bacteria through out your grounds..here is alink to show you pictures of common CL locations and Pix of the puss and so forth...there are many ideas on how to handle a break out of CL...each person should collect all the facts and decide for himself how to deal with it in their herd

I agree with Liz...if you are concerned this is what the lump your girls have...It is not a CL location ..most likely iodine defciency..;)
