i was out there and she was running around, and i noticed her front right leg, is hairless, with scratchy looking skin.

it's above the coronary band and stop about 4inches from her knee. leaving about 2-3 inches of bad looking skin. any ideas what this is and how i can treat it? i will get pictures tommorrow.

she seems to be in no pain, walks fine on it, and none of the others have this.

possibly mites. Could also just be a bad case of dry skin too.

might want to have a scarping taken by the vet. If its mites you can rub lubraderm or other non scented lotion on it twice a day and it will smother the mights. If its a bacteria infection iodine twice a day can fix the problem. If its a fungal infection iodine as well. If its just dry skin, some flax seed oil and a good scrubbing with a good moisturizer should do the trick.

would mites be able to survive up here?

i know that it's too cold for ticks and fleas.

not really sure. It has been freezing here the last week or so and i know we still have fleas around. Havnt seen any myself, but i havnt reall in the last six years. I have a cat that goes in and out. But i know i have talked to people that are having major flea problems inside and out right now, and have been all winter. We dont really have ticks around here. At least none that we see. Im sure their is an occasional deer tick around.
I did find this on mites

It may be some sort of bacteria infection.

I am not sure... if you "inject it"...regular ivomac inj cattle.... if it is safe for preggo does or not? Putting regular ivomac inj cattle ...down the throat,is OK ,I know for sure ..at the last month of pregnancy.... but I don't know... if the problem will resolve ..because "Ivomac plus" is recommended for this problem...........

how much longer... does your doe have ..to kid? If it is not very long.. I would wait.....until after she kids...

try mineral oil until she kids...it may help smother the critters and sooth her legs at the same time.
