Last week was a bit tough. We have been having trouble picking up enough jobs so my brother decided to look into finding a part time job. Of course it is disappointing that we are not making it and one guy he talked to was not very nice about it but one of the other men my brother talked to was very encouraging that we will find enough work eventually so I hope he is right.
As soon as I get the baby goats safely on the ground I will start looking about to see what I can find job wise if business doesn't pick up in the mean time.
Anyway with all the stress we decided to go for a walk in a closed Forest Service Campground especially since we knew the snow was coming.

The mountains were really neat with the clouds.

There is still ice on the lake.

We found that around the point the lake has a rocky bottom so we are hoping we get to go swimming later this summer.

Here the lake was completely iced over.

The mosses were so pretty and green!

I though these were cute little plants.

We saw this owl and he was actually aimed the other way but turning his head all the way around to look at us!

The beautiful creek!
It was just what we needed and really cheered us up!

You are very lucky to live near such a beautiful lake. I might have to try to find time to come visit you after all- looks like a great swimming hole! 😍
I’m sorry the work is slow- but it is that time of year. So somewhat to be expected. Can you guys put some flyers around town? Maybe at feed stores and lumber stores? Parts stores etc… try to get your name out there with what you offer.
try to keep your chin up and stay positive! 🤗

Once the word gets out I feel confident your brothers will be able to find work. At least around here, we're always looking for help, it's hard to get anyone to show up, everyone is busy (Missouri) but having skilled builders is tough to find, as mentioned perhaps the feed store, or hardware store if you have that around - post pictures of the beautiful barns your brothers built. I pray they will find work soon!

And join local facebook groups, buy sell trade type of groups, free advertising on those groups! Say new to the area and post the beautiful pictures of your barns. Be very reasonable on pricing, lots of people tough economy!

Have they tried also offering handyman services? We just went through a horrible time trying to find a handyman to do a few minor things around my parents house. Finally did find someone. He told my mom that he could work 24/7 with all the people that need a handyman.
Same situation here in Missouri. A good handyman is hard to find. Just need to find ways to get the word out.

Thankyou all so much for the advice, ideas, and encouragement! We really like the idea of offering Handyman services! We have been putting up lots of flyers for our welding business since we got here and hand business cards to everyone but we just got on Facebook. I have joined over 20 local groups and I am trying to advertise on them as well as keep my eye out for anyone needing a service we can offer. It takes a lot of time and I really hate FB but maybe it will help.🧐
My brother did find a part time job with a local landscape business and will be working 3 days a week. The pay is not great but the owner said he thinks he will be able to subcontract our welding and get us other welding jobs with people he knows so we are feeling hopeful!🙂
Thankyou all again for being here for me, y'all really are the best!🤗
