Paper can be bad ...it may have ink or chemicals on it ...depending on what type it is and where it is made..... Try keeping him from eating it.... Do you have any loose salts and minerals out for him free choice for cattle or goats? It has copper in it that goats really need along with other minerals that are essential for good health.... Also bucks need to be given Ammonium chloride .... to prevent Urinary Calculi.... :hug:

 

What a cute & handsome boy you have, and love the way the light plays on his face in the picture,, As mentioned in the first post,, chemicals are everywhere even on or in print on papers or can leek out of the cantainers on to the paper on them and your boy could get it that way... I'd try to avoid it at all costs... but my two wethers have eaten a heck of a lot of paper so it probably won't kill him... but do try and avoid it .... He looks a sweety!

I've had goats eat paper before on accident. Nothing has ever come of it, but do your best to not let him eat it. :thumb:

 

:laugh: they do like paper, don't they? Mine try to get it but I don't let them. If they actually ate some I most likely wouldn't think much of it unless it was a feed sack that had some string on it or other stuff attached (like Pam mentioned lots of inks & such) but I still won't LET them eat it!

Yup, they love paper. Not good to let them have it though.
I seem to collect paper. When I was buying a Alpine doe I had the doe between my knees while I was searching my pockets (trying to find where I put the money). I pulled out a wad of papers (receipts, notes, etc) and the doe snatched it from me. I had to get it back from her and then pay the lady...part of the money was in that wad of papers the goat took. It was kinda funny. Until then I never knew goats had a thing for paper.

 

I had a friend who had relatives in town and they were looking at a map trying to figure out how to get somewhere... She had the goat out and Fern took a bite out of the map right where they were all looking...
Now don't tell me that wasn't on purpose...

A friend of mine with Dairy girls has one who HAS to have her paper towel snack on the stand every milking.
