Okay, I went into the "summer" barn yesteday.
I in to say good morning, hug and kiss, make sure they are all good.
While kissing the boys I looked down and saw Lucy's horn.
I quickly counted everyone to make sure they were there.
Lucy WASN'T.
I statrted crying HYSTRERICALLY and went into the pen to find her.
It took me 15 minuteds to find her close enough to check her out- still couldn't touch her.
I begged her to come to one side of the platform and me on the other side.
Lucy gave me the streanest look like
" Momma didn't I tell you I didn't want that Ball!!!!!"
I softly talked to her as I cried and then went back to the house to calm down and think.
I grabbed the pain reliever and the wound anticeptic andwound covering. I then texted my hubby.,
who CALMLY said "give her some pain med in a bit of grain She'll be fine til I get home" AGRRRHHH
I hung up put my outdoor clothes on, corraled her enough to give her the grain and meds.
I then spent the entire day 9am-3pm with the goats- trying to get Lucy to eat- (she drank water and did baking soda and minerals)
Lucy wouldn't come near me or her siblings.
The hubby comes home I get just her in the barn which in NEVER is an easy thing even when she is happy.
The hubby cleans Lucy etc. then it was outdoor free time so I open the gate.. Everyone but Lucy happily comes out following me. Scotty and I trade places and I BEG Lucy to come out and eat.
She eventually does and eats for a bit then goes to the fencing of the other barn and stares longingly at her favorite spot- the platform.
at 6pm I lead the herd in except Lucy who goes the other way to the other barn, goes out thru to to the platform.
My hubby handles putting the herd to bed in the summer barn. I take Lucy's grain bucket head to hopefully put her to bed.
Luckily, she came ate her grain and had her meds-with banana slices.
We all went to bed, I got up more then I slept last night.
The hubby gives her her morning meds then moves the rest of the herd over- it connects to our large paddock.
I went down to say hello like normal and realized once again No Lucy.
To say I INSTANTLY paniced would be an understatment. I made my way thru to herd and look out to the paddock- No LUCY, just as I am reaching to my phone I see her move a bit under the platform!!! HALLELJULAH!!!!
Lucy is Ok this morning and I have realized the last 24 hours have hurt me MORE then her.
Gosh how I love them!!!
Happy Friday and Blessing to you all!!
