I’ve been looking for a new horse for awhile now, and finally decided getting a baby to train up was going to be my best bet. When I saw this guy posted, I had to get him!
Apollo is a mustang from BLM 4mile herd roundup. He was in the mustang mania of ‘22, so has been handled and is very friendly! He just turned 2, and should be hitting a growth spurt pretty soon.
this thread is for me to track our progress as I’ve never trained a horse before- I’ve always just had my dads hand me down horses 😅

This morning we roped his feet and he did very well! He didn’t freak out and lunge around at all. You could tell he was rather annoyed and didn’t know the why of it, but stayed calm like a good boy.
We also trimmed his hooves, which was another positive for him.

He also got wormed and vaccinated. He was not such a good boy when that needle hit 😅 it was a small needle too! 🤣
