messed with her a bit yesterday, still preety thin. she is just eating the leaves of the alfalfa so wasting quite a bit, gave her some grass hay but she just laid on it and pooped on it. Gave her a handful of the horse feed and she ate about half of that.
Replamin and a small dose of multi-min ( it was 1/4 of a ml). debating if i should deworm her but she is only like two months pregnant if she actually is. Her poop is ok kind of pellets logs. havent put her with anyone yet since she is coughing a bit still. Her tail is up she is very chatty. Staying dry. I dusted her a couple of times with sulfur. She never ate the rest of the forage pellets and they got all wet. Her testing came back neg but still not sure if i should put a doe with her for company.
i have a doe with preety bad hoof scald and she would benefit greatly from being n the stall but she is due next month. and i only had this gal less then two weeks so she can still be sick and not show it yet.

sorry about your goat's health problem, but i just wanted to say you have a terrific animal there!
I wish I could offer more advice, but it sounds like you are doing a great job
I think I Just worry a lot, want to de everything possible. Thankyou,
she figured out how to hop on the 2x4 hay feeder(corner ground hay feeder for the horses )and hop in it, then hop out and stay on the 2 inch side while launching herself over the wall. Ya she was proud of herself. I was not. She tried it four times while I was standing there. Ended up getting a pallet and tying it above the hay feeder…

The exact same thing just happened to me, my dog Chester learned how to jump in the hay feeder, and his brother and all the goats copied him. So now the hay feeder is just a loft bed or something lol
I tried to fix it, but Im not sure if it worked or not, best thing to do is just to build a roof for it
haha what are the odds

Misty is her new room mate. I was going to put a doeling with her but misty is always getting into trouble when she free ranges and she is open this year. Windy was thrilled to have a buddy but now misty is the boss. But they are around the same size and the stall is a 10 x20 plus a 5x10 outside area so plenty big for two little goats. Feeding1-1.5 quarts of horse feed and it seems to be gone by the next day, im sure misty is eating most of it. They will stay in the barn until the other does are close to the due date then will go out with the herd. ( a month). She is lucky, most of my herd is still young so she has a chance to not be the low man :) Windy is a very sweet doe.

She moved to the doe pen because she was just crying all the time and its been a month plus misty was being really mean. I wish i had a smaller pen but i dont. Everyone is very mean to her and i wont be surprised if she ends up being open. At least the kids from last year arent mean. She is about the size of the kids from last year, maybe a bit taller :(

I think i figured out her issue with eating. She does not take mouth- fulls of food like most goats. just a few strands at a time. I think she has some sharp molars, but havent been able to get in her mouth to see for sure since she is so small. That would explain why she is so thin and doesnt eat fast.
Im still trying to find some kind of pellet i can supplement her at least 1x a day. She isnt fond on my forage pellet and the triple crown horse feed was ok. i wish i could get dairy quality alfalfa that would be so nice.

I’m sorry she’s still not eating well for you. Poor little one at the bottom of the pecking order and then maybe tooth issues as well.
Maybe your hubby can help hold so you can try and file her molars a little? Or have your vet look at her mouth… but it seems like you have an expensive vet in your area 😕

Since the 6 does moved to the barn, there hasnt been many boss goats left in the doe pen. I think Windy was eating to o much compared to what she was doing before? or i have no idea the other reason.
She had/has diarrhea preety bad for like 5 days or so. her temp was fine and she was eating like normal, i tried the belly tamer minus the garlic with no results then added just probiotics and slippery elm a time or two. I finally dewormed her and hoped that wouldnt hurt her any(quest plus). Still nothing.
Finally today I am giving her calf halt(i think thats what its called) or scour halt , this morning she has yukky discharge and thinking she aborted her pregnancy. I havent seen this yukky discharge on a normal bred doe. I hope it was not the dewormer i gave.
on the plus side she actually has gained weight and looks much better minus the dirty back end. She still is very alert and waits for me to come in the doe pasture. i believe this is a 3 day treatment. hoping it will work.
